What is the Ahmadiyya Religion of Peace and Light?
The beliefs of the group are established in Shia Islam. The followers believe that Shia Islam is the only truly universal religion and that they are chosen by God. It was founded in Iraq in the latter part of 1990 and has since grown to include over forty nations. However, the sect has been subjected to discrimination in Muslim-majority countries, where their beliefs are generally seen as blasphemous and are resented by the wider Muslim world.
About 150 people occupied the Webb House property at the time of the raid.
Unusual notions
The group also has various highly skewed beliefs. The members believe that there exists human-like alien hybrids that shapeshift and resemble Bigfoot as well as the Yeti. They also teach they believe that George Washington was in fact Adam Weishaupt—popularly believed to be the ancestor of the Illuminati – and they believe that it is believed that the United States government is secretly under the control of the Illuminati.
