Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo (BRESE) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today, November 2. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the prestigious four-day event at around 4:30 PM and address the gathering. The summit, being organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), will continue until November 5, bringing together global policymakers, investors, industry leaders, researchers and clean energy innovators.
The summit is being organised under the theme ‘Invest. Innovate. Inspire.’ and aims to strengthen India’s position as a major global destination for renewable energy investment, technological development and international cooperation. It will provide an important platform for countries and businesses to explore new opportunities in solar power, wind energy, green hydrogen, energy storage and other emerging clean energy technologies.
Participation from More Than 130 Countries
Bharat RE 2026 is expected to attract participants from more than 130 countries, including over 40 ministers, along with senior government officials, financial institutions, investors and representatives of leading renewable energy companies.
Nine countries and regional groupings will participate as Country Partners. These include Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Their participation is expected to encourage international partnerships, facilitate technology exchange and create fresh investment opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
The summit will also provide an opportunity for participating nations to discuss common challenges related to clean energy financing, infrastructure development, technological innovation and the transition towards sustainable energy systems.
Thirteen Indian States to Showcase Renewable Energy Potential
Thirteen Indian states and Union Territories will participate in the summit to showcase their renewable energy potential, investment opportunities, policy initiatives and manufacturing capabilities.
The participating states and Union Territories include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
These states will highlight their ongoing projects, renewable energy resources and opportunities for domestic as well as international investors.
Their participation is particularly significant as renewable energy development in India increasingly depends on state-level policies, land availability, infrastructure, transmission facilities and private-sector investment.
More Than 400 Exhibitors to Showcase Advanced Technologies
One of the major attractions of Bharat RE 2026 will be its accompanying exhibition, which will feature more than 400 exhibitors from India and abroad.
Manufacturers, technology providers, renewable energy developers, startups and research institutions will showcase advanced technologies and innovative solutions across the clean energy sector.
The exhibition will cover several important areas, including solar and wind power generation, green hydrogen production, battery storage, energy management systems and other emerging renewable energy technologies.
The event will also highlight India’s domestic manufacturing capabilities and the growing role of innovation in making clean energy more affordable, accessible and reliable.
Three Major Global Clean Energy Platforms Under One Roof
Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 will be organised alongside two important international events: the ninth session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH).
The International Solar Alliance Assembly will focus on strengthening global cooperation in solar energy, improving access to finance and developing institutional capacity, particularly among developing countries.
Meanwhile, the International Conference on Green Hydrogen will focus on technological advancements, investment opportunities and the large-scale deployment of green hydrogen solutions.
Together, these three platforms are expected to strengthen international cooperation and accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies worldwide.
India Targets 500 GW of Non-Fossil Fuel Capacity by 2030
The summit comes at an important time for India’s energy transition. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India has achieved 308 GW of installed non-fossil fuel capacity and is working towards its target of 500 GW by 2030.
India currently ranks third globally in renewable energy and solar installed capacity and fourth in wind power capacity.
According to the ministry, achieving the country’s ambitious clean energy targets will require approximately USD 220 billion in investment between 2027 and 2030.
Accelerating energy storage deployment, strengthening electricity transmission networks and expanding domestic manufacturing capabilities will be essential to achieving this goal.
The country has also invested USD 63.7 billion in its renewable energy sector between July 2024 and June 2026, according to BloombergNEF.
Focus on Investment, Innovation and International Cooperation
The four-day summit will feature high-level plenary sessions, ministerial discussions, CEO roundtables and dedicated country and state sessions.
It will also facilitate business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G) and government-to-government (G2G) interactions to encourage partnerships, investment commitments and renewable energy project development.
Special attention will be given to financing mechanisms, technology development, skill creation and strengthening the renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
