Power Struggle Turns Violent: 11 Hurt in Gurdwara Clash in Germany’s Moers: At least 11 people were injured following a tense confrontation that took place in an gurdwara in Moers the city of Germany. This incident occurred in the Duisburg area, has raised concerns after videos that showed violent scenes and chaotic scenes appeared on social media in large numbers.
According to reports from Bild the report states that more than 40 people took part in the incident. The incident quickly escalated and prompted a massive police response that included the deployment of special combat units.
Eyewitnesses have described a disturbing sequence of events. They claimed that sharp weapons like knives and kirpans was used in the scuffle. There were reports that some people were treated with pepper spray and at the very least, a firearm was fired inside the church area.
A witness of 56 years old claimed that the attack appeared be planned. He said that a few minutes before the ceremony began an unidentified group of people suddenly applied pepper spray to others, which was followed by the sound of a gun. He also claimed to have seen several people carrying weapons with blades.

The preliminary investigations suggest that the violence could stem from internal conflicts relating to the appointment of a new board of management. Disputs over the control of gurdwara funds and authority over the leadership could have exacerbated tensions between the rival factions.
“There have been ongoing disagreements for some time, mostly about influence and decision-making power within the temple,” the witness claimed. “When the violence broke out the temple was awash with fear. The situation could have been better, but fortunately there are no lives in danger.”
The emergency responders took care of the injured on the scene, and paramedics and a doctor on call offering immediate medical attention.
Police have detained at most one suspect and the investigation division continues to look into the incident in order to determine the source of the incident.
