Mamata Banerjee Refuses to Concede

Despite the obvious tendency, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee has refused to accept defeat, urging party members and their supporters to “wait and watch” as the vote count continues. When the BJP passed the threshold of majority, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari claimed the victory was due to what he termed “Hindu consolidation” and launched an aggressive attack on the Banerjee-led TMC.

BJP workers were gathered in front of Mamata Banerjee’s Kolkata residence and chanted “Jai Shree Ram” in the wake of the party’s victory. A large majority.

In 15 years, they surpassed the loot, which was done by the British in 100-200 years,” Kabir added, noting that he would like to commend the Bengalis for their victory. Bengal for the verdict they handed down.

Record Voter Turnout

The 2026 West Bengal assembly elections saw record participation by the public. The elections saw 92.47 percent of the population voting; however, the Special Intense Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, which resulted in the removal of more than 91,000 names from the West Bengal voter lists, came under intense attention and became a major issue during the election campaign. The BJP said that the revision was a way to eliminate fake voters, whereas TMC claimed that it denied real voters, particularly minorities and workers who were migrant workers.
