Gelatin Sticks Found Near PM Modi’s Convoy Route in Bengaluru. On the outskirts of Bengaluru, explosive material was found near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy route ahead of his trip to the Art of Living International Centre.
Two gelatin sticks have been found during routine checks at Kagalipura. This is near the route that links to the visit of the Prime Minister. Explosives were found approximately 3 km from the main venue. The gelatin sticks were discovered during routine security checks in Kaggalipura, near Tataguni, which is not far from the route that the prime minister uses to travel.
Gelatin sticks, which are inexpensive but powerful explosives used for mining work, require a detonator.
Police Statement
“On Sunday, just before PM Modi’s arrival, when the check was being done, two gelatine sticks were discovered on the side a footpath. This is about three kilometers away from the venue where Modi had been scheduled to appear. A police statement stated that further investigation was underway.
Bomb disposal and forensic teams were immediately deployed to the area to examine suspicious materials. The recovery of the gelatin sticks prompted a significant increase in security along the route and the surrounding areas.
The arrest of a suspect is a key development
The suspect was arrested from a home near Koramangala. He had allegedly called the local police station in the early morning hours to alert them of the possibility of explosions near Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and the Art of Living Centre.
The suspect will be thoroughly questioned to determine if there were more people involved, whether more gelatin sticks had been hidden, and, most importantly, why the explosives were stored in that area.
Art of Living: PM Modi’s Program
Modi attended the Art of Living Centre’s 45th anniversary celebrations in Bengaluru on Sunday. This event was also a celebration of the 70th birth anniversary of the spiritual leader.
The Prime Minister, during the event, praised the Art of Living Foundation for its role in promoting spirituality, service and social transformation. He also called on all of us to work together towards a developed India by focusing on environmental responsibility, youth empowerment, and inner well-being. Bengaluru, he said, had become a global hub for technology and culture.
What’s next?
Modi’s next stop was Hyderabad, where he would inaugurate several development projects valued at around Rs 9,400 crore. The projects include those that are linked to the center’s vision of Viksit Telangana for Viksit Bharat.
The authorities have not confirmed whether or not the recovered gelignite sticks are linked to local quarrying activities in the area or if they were placed deliberately near the convoy route. The investigation is still active.
