Dark Cherry Is Coming. Here’s every iPhone 18 Pro color: A look inside the colors Apple is working on, specifically its iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which includes the deep wine-toned shade that is set to take over cosmic orange as the year’s top hue.
Macworld Staff, May 3, 2026. It’s the time for leaks in Cupertino. With Apple expecting to unveil three new iPhones within only a couple of months—those are the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a long-rumored foldable known as “the” iPhone Ultra—shoppers are already asking the most personal questions that they have ever asked: What color should I buy?
Similar to the previous time, Macworld spoke to someone who has access to Apple’s supply chain. We now have all four color options. Apple is currently working on it with regard to its iPhone 18 Pro lineup, as well as our own renderings of what we expect to see.
Say hello to Dark Cherry
Each year, Apple provides the Pro line a distinctive new color that is a stand-out shade that defines the new generation. In the case of the iPhone 17 Pro, that color was vibrant cosmic orange. In the case of the iPhone 18 Pro, it seems Apple is opting for something more refined: Dark Cherry. New
“The hue will be much closer to wine than fruit punch—closer to a cellar than a cocktail.”
The earlier reports mentioned the vaguely named “Dark Red.” This source, however, is far more specific. The shade Apple was working on for a while is a dark shade that is merlot-adjacent, that is rich and restrained instead of bold and dazzling. Where Cosmic Orange was able to dominate an area, Dark Cherry enters it in a quiet way.
This doesn’t mean that it’s dull. On titanium, darker tones acquire a subtle metallic quality that brighter colors cannot be able to match. Dark cherry will appear differently in every lighting, shifting from nearly black in shade to an edgy burgundy in the sun. It is expected that Cosmic Orange will be retired as the new line is released.

Three more colors complete the collection.
Beyond Dark Cherry, our source offers three more alternatives Apple is evaluating to be used on the new 18 Pro. The first one is a light blue that bears a similarity to the Mist Blue, currently available on the standard iPhone 17 — a delicate, almost silvery blue that photos as cool and well-organized. It’s a perfect option for people who prefer simple instead of striking.
The other is a dark gray that is being described as the “dark shade of gray.” This is the norm for Apple’s Pro collection, which has been through several near-black as well as slate-colored tones throughout the years. The darker grays are perceived as serious and utilitarian—precisely the kind of color that has a steady sales rate, regardless of marketing hype.
Then, Silver returns. An enduring option part of the Apple Pro collection, silver is the option for those who prefer to let the device disappear in their hands rather than draw focus on it. It’s a safe option, and Apple is aware that it’s a popular choice.
Important note: Our source notes that all four colors are in development. Since there is no indication that the iPhone 18 Pro has not yet been made available for manufacturing, Apple still has time to alter or eliminate one of these colors. Apple has previously offered a variety of colors for Pro models. This means that one of these colors could be chosen before launch. The year before, rumors suggested a steel gray and black version of the iPhone 17 Pro was never confirmed. iPhone 17 Pro never materialized.

What has happened to the foldable?
The iPhone Ultra—Apple’s name for the debut foldable iPhone—is a distinct product that has an entirely different color scheme that we’ll likely write about ahead of Apple’s September event. The four colors listed above are available for the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max only.
This article will be updated as new information is available. The Apple fall events are anticipated in September.
