COMPLETE MATCH POINTS AND ANALYSIS
Josh Inglis, the star performer in the first inning, produced one of the most explosive powerplay knocks during the IPL 2026. He scored 85 runs off only 33 balls. This included 10 fours and six sixes with a strike rate of 257%. He set the foundation for LSG’s huge total.
LSG’s middle order collapsed, with Pooran (1) and Pant (15) falling cheaply. Markram (6) also fell cheaply. CSK’s bowlers tightened up the screws, particularly Noor Ahmad and Overton.
Shahbaz Ahmed, who scored 43 runs off 25 balls with 3 sixes included, was the star of the dying overs. He helped LSG surpass 200. The 50-run stand between Himmat Singh and his 7th wicket (out of 12 balls) was what pushed LSG past 160.
Noor Ahmad, who averaged just six runs per over, was the most economical bowler for CSK. Hosein and Choudhary both cost CSK without any reward.
Chepauk is a tough place to reach 204. CSK is still in the hunt for the day because the pitch was good for batting. But they need to get off to a fast start on the power play, similar to what Inglis achieved for LSG. This chase will be very alive if CSK’s first order is on fire.
