In a high-scoring thriller of the 2026 Indian Premier League, the Rajasthan Royals continued their unbeaten streak with a magnificent 6-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Guwahati. The match turned out to be a spectacular showcase of explosive batting, with young players taking center stage.
Batting first, RCB posted a formidable total of 201/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Rajat Patidar provided momentum to the innings with a brilliant knock of 60 runs off 40 balls, while Virat Kohli contributed a brisk 32 runs. Despite a strong start, RCB lost their rhythm in the middle overs as the Rajasthan bowlers staged a comeback. Jofra Archer impressed by claiming early wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi picked up crucial breakthroughs that helped restrict RCB’s total.
Chasing a target of 202 runs, the Rajasthan Royals got off to a blistering start, largely thanks to young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The 15-year-old left-handed batsman delivered a stellar performance, smashing 78 runs off just 26 balls.
His innings featured powerful strokes played against seasoned bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. Suryavanshi also reached his half-century in a mere 15 balls—one of the fastest half-centuries in the history of the IPL.

However, the true hero of the match proved to be Dhruv Jurel. Displaying remarkable maturity and confidence, the young wicketkeeper-batsman remained unbeaten with a score of 81 runs off 43 balls. Jurel forged a pivotal 108-run partnership with Suryavanshi, a stand that decisively tilted the match in Rajasthan’s favor during the Powerplay itself.
Following Suryavanshi’s dismissal, the Rajasthan innings witnessed a brief wobble as the score slipped from 129/1 to 134/4. However, Jurel maintained his composure and, through a blend of calculated aggression and astute decision-making, guided the team to victory.
Earlier in the match, RCB had attempted to stage a comeback—aided by players like Romario Shepherd and Venkatesh Iyer—which helped propel their total score past the 200-run mark. However, Rajasthan’s strong start during the chase effectively nullified all of RCB’s efforts.

With such performances, Dhruv Jurel is now establishing himself as a reliable match-winner, while Vaibhav continues to emerge as one of the top rising stars of IPL 2026.
