PM Modi Urges Massive Voter Turnout in Assam, Kerala & Puducherry

The vote on 2026’s state Elections 2026 started on Thursday in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry which marks the beginning of a significant democratic exercise across three regions that are politically important. Early turnout numbers published from the Election Commission of India indicate an increasing number of people voting, indicating optimism among people.

Based on the initial information that was recorded until the early morning hours, Assam reported around 17.87 percent turnout as well as Kerala reported 16.23 percent and Puducherry recorded 17.41 percent voter participation. The officials expect turnout to grow substantially as the day progresses due to the favorable weather conditions and smooth voting arrangements.

There are 296 seats in the assembly are on the line in the three regionsthere are 126 seats in Assam 140 in Kerala and thirty seats in Puducherry. The electorate totals more than 5 million voters which makes an election one of biggest election events of the year.

The process of counting votes is scheduled to take place on May 4 2026 The final results will define the political climate in these states as well as the territory of union.
