From Missiles to Meetings: Iran & Lebanon Peace Talks Heat Up

According to the latest reports, negotiators from Iran and the United States began preparations on Friday (April 10, 2026) in Islamabad for high-level talks scheduled to commence the following day.

According to major news reports, the objective of these talks was to stabilize the ceasefire—which was teetering due to exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as Tehran’s tight grip on the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance was set to depart from Washington, while Iran maintained silence regarding the composition of its delegation; the country was seeking to pressure Washington to halt Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

Tasnim—a semi-official news agency with close ties to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards—insisted that unless this condition was met, the talks would remain “postponed.”
