Chennai Super Kings secured their first victory in their Indian Premier League 2026 season with a convincing win of 23 runs against Delhi Capitals in Chennai on April 11.
When asked to bat first, CSK delivered a dominant performing batting display, driven by an incredible unbeaten knock by Sanju Samson.
Sanju Samson an impressive 115* off only 56 balls, which was his first significant contribution to the yellow shirt. The innings was brimming with fifteen fours and four sixes. He displayed total control and aplomb.
Samson was a major player in forming strong relationships during the entire innings. Samson first scored 62 runs along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. He scored 15 before he left.

The most memorable part in the game was a stunning 113-run partnership for the second wicket, which was capped by young talented Ayush Mhatre who impressed with a calm 59.
At the conclusion, Samson continued his onslaught with Shivam Dube, completing an unbeaten 37-run tandem to bring CSK to an impressive score of 212/2.
In reaction, Delhi Capitals fought hard but were unable to keep pace with the increasing needed run rates. While there was some resistance in the patches however, they failed to create long-lasting partnerships, and in the end came up short, denying CSK the well-deserved win.
This win is a huge positive to Chennai Super Kings after a slow beginning of the campaign. Samson’s shaandaar century was not just what made the score look better but also set the stage for the CSK’s return to the tournament.
For Delhi Capitals the Delhi Capitals, it was a tough game because their bowlers were unable to stop CSK’s explosive batting power. The team will now be looking to improve their performance in the upcoming games.
